Getting help

The questions crews actually ask, and a real address for the ones that are not here.

If it is about something that happened on a channel, include the group name and roughly when — that is enough for us to find it.

Getting started

How do I get my crew on it?

One person creates a group, then invites the rest by email. Everyone else creates an account, accepts the invitation, and they are in. There is nothing to install on the truck and no radio licence involved.

Do I need the app, or does the browser work?

The web app at app.racelinkpro.com works in any modern browser and is the complete product. The iOS app adds push-to-talk that works with the screen off, which a browser cannot do.

Is there an Android app?

Not yet. Android phones use the web app, which works — the difference is that push-to-talk needs the browser tab open.

On race day

Somebody has vanished from the map.

The map shows what a device can do, not why it went quiet. A person disappears from the map when they turn sharing off, when their phone loses signal, or 24 hours after their last fix — person positions are deleted after a day by design. None of those are distinguishable from the map, which is why it does not guess.

I stopped hearing a channel.

Check the channel is not muted, and that monitoring is still on — monitoring is what keeps a channel live on your phone, and stopping it is deliberate and explicit. On iOS, also check that notifications are allowed for Race Link Pro in Settings: push-to-talk reaches a locked phone through the notification system.

Are transmissions recorded?

Yes. Everything said on a channel is stored in that channel's scrollback so the crew can play it back, and it is transcribed so it can be read as well as heard. The privacy policy has the detail, including how long it is kept.

Does push-to-talk work with no signal?

No, and what you say off-network is gone rather than queued — the app is not recording it to send later. The audio goes over the network, so where there is no coverage there is no radio. What the phone does hold on to is positions and the times somebody taps in at a checkpoint: those are kept and pushed through when it is back in range. None of it makes the app a substitute for the gear you would have carried anyway.

Your account

How do I change my name, email or password?

In the app, tap your picture in the top right and choose Manage account. On the web, the same menu is in the same corner.

How do I delete my account?

Manage account → Delete account, in the app or on the web. It is immediate and cannot be undone. What that does and does not remove is set out in the privacy policy.

Somebody is misusing a channel.

Write to support@racelinkpro.com and tell us the group and roughly when. Reports reach us directly, not only your group admin.

Reporting a security problem

If you have found a vulnerability, write to support@racelinkpro.com with enough detail to reproduce it, and give us a chance to fix it before publishing.
